Light output of liquid organic scintillator has been measured for proton, deuteron, triton, He nucleus and alpha particle at Heavy-Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba (HIMAC) of National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) in Japan. A set of light output functions has been developed according to the present experimental data.

We are developing the 4th Version of Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library (JENDL-4) as the middle-term project. The resolved resonance paramters of FP nuclides have been evaluated in cooperation with the Japanese Nuclear Data Committee. The evaluation covers about 200 nuclides from Zn (Z=30) to Er (Z=68). Evaluation procedures and results of the resolved resonance parameters will be reported in this talk.

A new inventive radiation dose monitor, designated as DARWIN (Dose monitoring system Applicable to various Radiations with WIde energy raNges), has been developed for real-time monitoring of doses in workspaces and surrounding environments of high energy accelerator facilities. DARWIN is composed of a phoswitch-type scintillation detector, which consists of liquid organic scintillator BC501A coupled with ZnS(Ag) scintillation sheets doped with 6Li, and a data acquisition system based on a Digital-Storage-Oscilloscope. The details of its features will be described at the presentation, together with the results of its calibrations performed in several accelerator facilities.

An ethnographical research was conducted by the regional high school students for the Ningyo-Toge uranium production facilities. The research was focused on several social groups around Ningyo-Toge such as engineers in the facilities and residents and described past and present circumstances there from the time firstly discovered an uranium ore 50 years ago. In addition, it should be noted that regional communication around Ningyo-Toge were activated while the research project was conducted.

To clarify behavior of the material and fuel of the fast reactor under high burn-up and the high fluence, re-assembly of "JOYO" irradiation rig is executed in Japan Atomic Energy Agency. This time, the re-assembling technology with a welding was established, newly. This technology is an upgrade of the continuance irradiation technology further for clear of the irradiation behavior of the fuel and the material.
